I am in Halifax, NS attending the ICSB World Conference. It’s a great opportunity to see presentations on the latest research on small business and learn, but most importantly to connect with people from many different parts of the world involved in Small Business Development.
When I attend these conferences I realise the importance of networking for small business. An important part of growing your business locally and globally is attending the right functions and meeting the right people. In the last 24 hours I have met people in my field from:

It sometimes takes effort and money to attend conferences and trade shows but the learning and contacts you make at these events are important part of growing your business. In the next 24 hours I may meet somebody that can change the direction of my business and that’s what I am looking forward to.
