Business is all about sales. No matter what kind of business you are, whether you sell to other businesses or consumers, whether your focus is fashion or forestry, plumbing or paintings, it all comes down to making a sale.
Sales generate the revenue that sustains every other aspect of your business. And sales drive profits.
There are four essential ways to increase sales and grow your business.
- Attract new customers
- Keep your existing customers
- Help customers to buy more
- Help customers to buy more often
Get the basics down by following these rules:
- Offer excellent products and services.
- Focus on the customer.
- Develop a culture of caring in your business.
- Employ the best possible sales people.
- Understand that sales is about developing relationships.
- Do what you can to keep customers for life.
- Use customer testimonials to make the sales process easier.
- Aim to be the best in your industry.
- Associate with positive, motivated people.
- Keep your promises.
- Never say bad things about any of your competitors.

One thing is missing – creating the need where need does not exist – that is a true role of a Deal Maker.
Salesperson must create a specialized situation, and place people in the market who didn’t feel that way when they walked in the store. It has been said that sometimes a good salesperson sells to buyers who don’t think they want what they buy.
The reason why is this: the good salesperson makes the buyers realize they want what is being offered.
